Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstones Fighting Fantasy series started a publishing phenomenon. They weren’t the first ‘adventure gamebooks’ on the market - the Choose Your Own Adventure takes that dubious honour. But they did both raise the game and sell absolutely shedloads, creating demand for similar products.
